Zone Swimming Carnival – 2015 Results

It was a glorious sunny day last Monday 16/2, and a perfect day for the Zone Swimming Carnival! A team of swimmers represented WCCS, with fantastic results all round. WCCS placed second overall on the score board – an absolute outstanding effort!

WCCS swimmers placed strongly in all swimming styles, including the Medley and Freestyle Relay events. Two competitors, Rebecca and Henry, placed in the top two in multiple events. Congratulations and well done to all competitors.

The State Swimming Carnival is on Monday 9th March.

2015 Swimming Carnival

What a great day and what a great start to the 2015 sport year! Congratulations to every child that competed in a race. What a fantastic effort! Whether you placed in the top four in your heat or made it into the pool you are to be commended.
Children didn’t need to be racing today to get wet – no I don’t mean the rain. The water splash park was awesome! Children not racing in the 50m pool were certainly racing around the splash park and enjoying the gigantic water tip bucket.
The house points competition was fierce this carnival. The excitement level was bubbling and the chanting cheer squads were LOUD. Who won the house points competition? The winner is… Well, the winner will be revealed tomorrow!
Next level ZONE Swimming Carnival is on Monday 16 February. Children that have made it to Zone will receive a note home soon.
Thank you to all staff and high school helpers who did a great job in running the carnival. Despite the rain the 2015 swimming carnival was a fantastic day.

CIS swimming … Rebecca!

Congratulations to Rebecca for a top effort at the CIS Swimming Carnival last week. She was the only WCCS representative and she did very well.

Rebecca made it into the finals for her 50m butterfly final swimming the second fastest time with a massive personal best time of 35.88. In the final she came 6th with a time of 36.67.

Well done Rebecca!

One student’s thoughts of the Zone Swimming Carnival

On the 17th of February 2014 William Carey Christian School attended the Zone Swimming Carnival at Prairiewood Leisure Centre. Our School did really well eventually coming third behind Inaburra & Sutherland Shire Christian School. In the morning it was really cold and raining. We had to wait in the marshalling area standing in the cold rain for ages before our race. It was hard to swim when I felt like an ice cube.

While we were swimming in the relays we could hear the crowd cheering us on. In the end William Carey won 3 age champion awards achieved by Henry, Rebecca and Morgan.

There will be a few children going through to state. Hope WCCS does well.
