Winter IPSSO Finals Wrap up 2014

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR WCCS TEAMS!

WCCS Netball, Softball, Modified Volleyball and Soccer all competed in the Winter IPSSO finals on Wednesday.  All of our teams did very well, playing some excellent games in the semi finals.

In the netball, both Jr and Snr, and in the Soccer Jr games, overtime was required to come up with a result for the finals.  For both Jr and Snr modified volleyball the 3 sets were required to separate the teams.  The semi finals for all teams were hard fought with the majority of them getting through into the finals.

The final results were a huge win for the SNR SOFTBALL TEAM. The rest of our teams who played the finals were beaten by the opposition this year, but the games were very good. Well done to all the players of the Winter competition, I a really glad that we were able to have such a beautiful day to finish off the season.

Thanks to all the coaches, the commitment to your teams means so much and without you, there would not be the opportunity to play and definitely make it as far as WCCS did this year.

Let’s hope that the Summer IPSSO Competition goes as well as this season.

IPSSO finals Victory

Congratulations to the WCCS senior netball, soccer and softball teams.

All three teams played today and got through to their finals. All three teams played hard with two of them coming out with the overall victory.

The senior softball team, coached by Mrs Rivers, had to fight all the way to the very end. Reports have it that if the team had not got a double out play, and the next batter had taken the plate the other team would have won. All watching the nail biter were enthralled right to the end.

Both softball teams congratulated one another, sharing thoughtful speeches as the medals and trophy were handed out.

Congratulations on the win guys.

The senior soccer team also like to play it right down to the wire. The boys again did the school proud by giving it their all for a day of games. The final was played against our favourite and very talented rivals THAC. The boys had to play their best to win.

However, when full time came around the score was locked at 2 all. I believe that extra time was played with no decision. This meant that it was down to a penalty shoot out. This was tough with one of our players missing but the others all scoring. However, congratulations must go to our goalie for the save that won the match, well done Jordan!

Thankyou to Mr Green and Mr Stefanovski for all the hard work in training the boys this year.

Boys, you have fought hard this year for the win and you achieved it.

Netball, I know played well and again they came up against serious competition but today it was not to be. Only loosing by the smallest of margins, they have proudly I played for WCCS.

Thanks to Mrs Hall for the all the work with the girls this season.

Thanks to all the parents who attended throughout the season to cheer on their teams.

####please note that this is all just from what I (Mr H) heard from today and there will be more details and photos coming as soon as the coaches and students have recovered from the big day.
