Cross Country Carnival 2015

We had a fantastic sunny day for this year’s Cross Country Carnival! A special thank you to all the parents that came to support their children (even though you may have beaten the teachers in the tug-of-war event).

Congratulations to all the students who participated and thanks to our Year 9 High School students who helped out with marshaling, especially Mitchell C, who ran every single race to help guide the Primary students around the course.

The results of the carnival will be announced during tomorrow morning’s assembly.  IMG_2395 (Small)IMG_2388 (Small)IMG_2515 (Small)IMG_2653 (Small)IMG_2520 (Small)IMG_2442 (Small)    IMG_2519 (Small)IMG_2612 (Small)IMG_2466 (Small)

Primary swimming carnival

Swimming carnival is only three days away, on Thursday 5th February. If you haven’t done so already please submit your childs permission note to their class teacher. It’s going to be a great day of racing as well as fun novelty events for non competitors. The weather forecast for Thursday is looking good so don’t forget your hat and sunscreen. Get creative and dress up in house colours!

Primary PSSA Update

Ben and Peter competed at the PSSA Athletics Carnival today. The boys competed as members of the CIS team. Ben ran in the 200m on Day 1 of the carnival and then participated in Shot Put and 100m throughout Day 2. Peter had his events; 800m and Long Jump on Day 2. Both boys represented both WCCS and CIS admirably. They both did their best and had a great time. Ben earned his place on the PSSA team through his personal best performance in Shot Put. He threw over 9m. Ben will be attending Nationals at the end of November being held in Tasmania.

The 2 days could not have been more opposite. Day 1 was raining and freezing. Everyone was rugged up and could not get warm. However, day 2 was hot and sunny, the tents that were up to protect against rain and today it was to stop everyone getting sun burnt.

Well done boys!

CSSA State Athletics Carnival

Today was a great day!

We had 18 students representing WCCS at the State Athletics Carnival. There were a number of individuals and there were 2 teams for the relay.  All students did very well.  Thanks to all the parents who came and supported our team and again, thanks to all of our athletes, doing WCCS proud.

Zach, Ben and Peter have progressed through to CIS as individual athletes and the Jr Boys Relay team came second overall and will compete as a team at the CIS.

Great day all round!

Update on CSSA State on this week

CSSA Primary State Athletics Carnival which will be held on Thursday 21 August 2014 at Blacktown Sports Park – Athletics Centre

The track is an ALL WEATHER TRACK & the event WILL GO AHEAD.

It WILL be raining on Thursday so please prepare the STUDENTS and ALL OFFICIALS for a WET MEET.

If it is too wet & slippery the high jump event could get cancelled throughout the day.

NSW Officials in conjunction with the state convenor will make a decision based on the conditions at the time of each event.

Unfortunately there in nothing we can do about this.

If a High Jump event is cancelled results for CIS will be taken on zone heights
