CIS Tennis Trials – Sonia J

On the 24th of February I had the opportunity to represent our school and the CSSA at the CIS primary tennis trials at Pymble Ladies College (PLC). When I arrived at the school I felt excited to be at PLC representing my school and to play well. We played a four game round robin. I made it through to the final eight but unfortunately lost in the quarterfinals. At the end of the day I was really happy and tired. I thought I played really well and what mattered most to me that I had a fun time and made some new friends!

One student’s thoughts of the Zone Swimming Carnival

On the 17th of February 2014 William Carey Christian School attended the Zone Swimming Carnival at Prairiewood Leisure Centre. Our School did really well eventually coming third behind Inaburra & Sutherland Shire Christian School. In the morning it was really cold and raining. We had to wait in the marshalling area standing in the cold rain for ages before our race. It was hard to swim when I felt like an ice cube.

While we were swimming in the relays we could hear the crowd cheering us on. In the end William Carey won 3 age champion awards achieved by Henry, Rebecca and Morgan.

There will be a few children going through to state. Hope WCCS does well.

In the interest of safety from the coming storm all IPSSO matches in our pool, all schools, have made a call to cancel today’s matches.

We have been informed the storm currently in Katoomba is likely to move down earlier than expected.

Thanks for your understanding

Zone Swimming Carnival Update

Even though the rain came down the WCCS team stepped up to the challenge and competed in an outstanding way.  It is reported that WCCS has officially come in 3rd place overall, with only 4 points between 2nd and 3rd place, amazing effort team.

WCCS blitzed the pool when it came to the Freestyle and Medley Relay events with 4  school teams through to the CSSA state. The winning just kept coming with Henry, Morgan and Becky being named Age Champions at the Zone meet.

Congratulations! Well done to all competitors.

More details and photos to come as they are made available.

IPSSO for 2014 is HERE!

All parents who have a child in an IPSSO team for the summer season should have already received a note and a DRAW for the this terms games. As we know that paper goes missing so please click HERE (IPSSO ROSTER Summer 2014) to download a copy for your mobile devices or just to reprint.

Parents should also have received a note that outlined any specific equipment that is required for the sport your child is participating in. For example shin pads and WCCS soccer socks, available from the uniform shop, are required for all participating in Soccer and Softball.

Please note that any changes to the draw will be posted on this Blog the day before each game. Please check to see if there are any changes here before you contact the Primary Office.
