Dream Cricket Day

Dream Cricket 2013

On Friday 25th October 2013 four of our Year 6 boys attended a day of fun and skills at Dream Cricket.  The focus of this day was to learn about bowling, bating and accuracy.  The boys had a fantastic time throughout the day, even getting to meet John Howard.

“The best part of the day was playing ‘sticky wicky’, where I had a tennis ball with Velcro on the wicket and I had to try and get the ball to stick on the wicket.” Joel H

“The best part of the day was batting because it was fun to try and hit the ball, stopping it from hitting the wicket. I got a lot better at this.” Brandon P

“The best part of Dream Cricket was the bowling, because I now love bowling and I can now bowl the ball really fast.” Cameron S

After the skills and games, with the cricketers, they all got to go for a look through the Bradman Museum.  Here there were old bats from the 1850’s right through to today’s bats. There was Australian Cricket memorabilia. Finally, the main attraction was the history of Sir Donald Bradman’s life and sporting achievements.

Joel was surprised that World War II impacted on Bradman’s career. How good could he actually have been?

The boys were all tired by the end of the day and wished they could return next year.
