Congratulations to the WCCS CIS Athletics team

Yesterday was a day of serious competition. All of our students felt the excitement as we drove into Sydney Olympic Park and they realised they were getting to run where Olympians had run, jumped and thrown.

Our relay team were amazing! Even though 2 of the boys were quite unwell their heat was their fastest they had gone yet, slashing seconds from their personal best. This effort got them into the finals as third fastest, an awesome effort alone. Their final demonstrated commitment but the weakness caused from illness took over at about the 80 m mark down the back straight.

The boys still managed to come through 5th over all and should be very proud, we all are.

Cam and Jai also competed in a number of running events. Their friendly competition pushed each of them on to run their best. Watch here. 800m Final

Year 2 get their Swim on…

Year 2 are up to the fourth day of their 10 day intensive swimming program. Reports are that they are having a great time and learning heaps.

WCCS is happy to have Holsworthy Swim Centre on board with our new program.

Please support our students, staff, parents and the program through prayer for Year 2 as they learn this important life skill of swimming through prayer and encouragement.

IPSSO finals Victory

Congratulations to the WCCS senior netball, soccer and softball teams.

All three teams played today and got through to their finals. All three teams played hard with two of them coming out with the overall victory.

The senior softball team, coached by Mrs Rivers, had to fight all the way to the very end. Reports have it that if the team had not got a double out play, and the next batter had taken the plate the other team would have won. All watching the nail biter were enthralled right to the end.

Both softball teams congratulated one another, sharing thoughtful speeches as the medals and trophy were handed out.

Congratulations on the win guys.

The senior soccer team also like to play it right down to the wire. The boys again did the school proud by giving it their all for a day of games. The final was played against our favourite and very talented rivals THAC. The boys had to play their best to win.

However, when full time came around the score was locked at 2 all. I believe that extra time was played with no decision. This meant that it was down to a penalty shoot out. This was tough with one of our players missing but the others all scoring. However, congratulations must go to our goalie for the save that won the match, well done Jordan!

Thankyou to Mr Green and Mr Stefanovski for all the hard work in training the boys this year.

Boys, you have fought hard this year for the win and you achieved it.
