The Magic Faraway Tree, by Enid Blyton

The Magic Faraway tree is about three children called Jo, Beth and Franny. The names were originally Joe Bessy and Fanny but the names were changed. The three children discover and go to an enchanted wood and up the biggest and only magic tree in the world. It’s called the faraway tree because its top is so far away and always sticks up into some strange land. The odd thing about the tree is there are little folk that live in the tree named the angry pixie, Saucepan Man, Mrs. Saucepan, Dame Washalot, Moonface, Silky and the barn owl good friend of Silky the fairy. The other odd thing about the tree is it grows all different things at the same time. And here is a picture.

Now Jo, Beth and Franny have two visitors in the books: Connie a friend of theirs is in the third book and Rick their cousin is in the second book. I like this book because it’s magic, and I pray that there will be an enchanted wood in heaven. My favorite character from in the faraway tree would be silky and Moonface and my favorite out of the children would be Beth because she is sensible, intelligent and smart. The children always get stuck in lands at the top of the tree but they would get back again. The three children’s mother is very patient and kind and sometimes gives the children a day all to themselves and makes fresh new bread.  There is much more in the book but you should find that out for your self so one day I hope you read the magic faraway tree collection as well as me.
